Plot

The plot of Vivah hindi movie is as follows:

Poonam, a middle-class girl lives in the small town Madhupur in Mathura district, Uttar Pradesh. Her parents died in her childhood and since then her uncle Krishnakant has fulfilled a father's void in her life. However, his wife Rama is jealous and unable to accept Poonam, driven by the fact that their own daughter Rajni is dark in complexion and not as beautiful than Poonam. Despite this Rajni and Poonam share a close bond and are like sisters. Poonam is engaged to a businessman's son, Sunil, but he cancels the marriage, as he feels that he is not worthy of her. Meanwhile, Prem, a young and successful businessman from Delhi, is the son of Harishchandra Bajpayee, a close friend of Krishnakant. Harishchandra convinces Krishnakant to accept Prem's marriage proposal for Poonam. Krishnakant agrees and travels to Delhi with Poonam to meet Prem and his family. Prem and Poonam are initially shy and do not interact much, but gradually get to know each other and develop a liking for each other. Prem is impressed by Poonam's simplicity, beauty, and kindness, while Poonam admires Prem's honesty, intelligence, and respect for elders.
