Which of the four best taxi apps in Japan did you choose?
I want to visit my friend in Japan for the first time this winter and would like to resolve one purely organizational issue. I often take taxis in the US and want to find a convenient app in Japan so I don't fall prey to scammers. I came across a post on Gettransfer blog and found an article about the Japan Taxi App for tourists. It lists four apps. If anyone on the forum has tested them, could you share your impressions? I'm considering DiDi because it has English prompts, which is helpful since I don't know much Japanese. Have you read this blog post? Have you used the app?

I visit my relatives in Japan every summer, and I also use DiDi. Each app connects to a network of drivers and uses real-time GPS to quickly connect you, which is great. I still prefer DiDi, though, because it has strong coverage in central areas and major transportation hubs, such as Tokyo, Osaka, and Kyoto. I learned this later on Gettransfer. In short, you should download it.
