What surprised you the most after moving into a new home?

I used to think that the hardest part of relocating was getting all the furniture from one place to another. After my last move, I realized that settling in can sometimes be just as challenging. Even after everything arrived, there were still boxes to unpack, furniture to rearrange, and small adjustments that took weeks to complete. While browsing discussions about relocation experiences, I found people mentioning

in conversations that were actually focused on post-move challenges rather than transportation itself. Many shared stories about discovering how differently furniture fit into a new space compared to the old one. Others talked about the time required to organize rooms efficiently and make the new place feel comfortable. What stood out to me was that moving day often feels like the finish line, when in reality it’s just the beginning of another process. Did anyone else find the adjustment period more demanding than they expected?
