Dealing with harsh weather and exterior finishes

Living in Canada means our homes take a beating from the weather—snow, rain, and those freeze-thaw cycles. I’ve had paint chip off, siding warp, and even brick that started to look dull over time. I want a finish that can handle the elements but still looks good year-round. Any recommendations?

We had the same issue, and after trying a few options, we went with stone cladding exterior It’s weather-resistant and doesn’t fade like paint or crack like cheap siding. The natural texture of stone actually looks even better in winter, especially with snow on it—it gives the house this cozy, solid look. Maintenance has been minimal, and it feels like a one-time investment rather than something you’ll keep fixing. I’d say it’s the most weather-proof and stylish choice we’ve found.
